Rori's DHH Graduation

Today Rori had her last day of school as a student at the Utah School for the Deaf.  This is a big deal for our family as next year she will enter our neighborhood school for kindergarten.  Rori started going to DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) school just days after she turned 3 years old.  The goal for everyone all along has been to get to this point where she would be able to enter kindergarten with all her peers.  It has taken a lot of hard work, a few battles, our family living in 2 different states, and lots of loving members of a big team of people to get her to this point.  It is exciting and terribly nerve-wracking for us all at the same time.  But it is time and she is so excited to get to go to the same school as Kai next year.  We are very grateful to everyone who played a role in making this happen.  This past year has had its challenges with us living apart, but Rori's school and all of the wonderful support people (Audioloogy, Auditory Verbal Therapy, John Tracy trained teachers, etc.) have made us feel very confident that it was worth it.  Yeah Rori!

Mrs. Hopkin was such a great and sweet DHH teacher for Rori this year:

Ms. Natalie was a fantastic classroom aide:
