All Leads Appreciated

Life has been a little busy. Lance is trying to finish up his current work- he'll be done next week. YIPPPPEEEE!!!!!!! Kai is finishing up preschool this week. So sad- but ok because he is going to do a 4 week program there this summer that we are all excited about. Rori has been trying to finish up organizing all of her babies (such a girl). For some reason she likes to gather them all at the top of the stairs so we can struggle to not kill ourselves going over them. And I have been busy trying to finish up getting some things here organized so we can get working on moving plans.

Speaking of...we've put our house on the MLS now. If anyone is interested or knows of someone that might be interested please pass them on to us. We have loved this house and the neighborhood. FABULOUS location, next door neighbors, schools etc. It will be a super home for someone. We'd like to sell it so we can all move together to Las Vegas. Small things you know. Please help us spread the word.

MLS: MLS #: 963574

We're also going to need to find a place to live in Las Vegas. We'd like to be in the Henderson/ Green Valley area as that is where Lance will be working. If you know of anyone selling or renting a house in that area you can let us know that too. We're also looking for a preschool for Kai there.

All leads appreciated on any of the above.

Thanks!

Angelman Walk-A-Thon 2010

Today was the Angelman Syndrome Walk-A-Thon in 22 cities across the United States. Our little family and Lance's sweet parents attended the one here in SLC. The weather was great and it was awesome to see and visit with so many amazing families.

I volunteered to help with some media aspects of the Salt Lake walk and was super excited when the Salt Lake Tribune ran THIS article this week which was then picked up by the Associated Press wire.

Afterwards we talked to my parents who were some of the coordinators of the walk in San Diego. It is pretty neat that these special families were gathered all over today.

Un-Birthday

Kai celebrated his un-birthday at school this week. All the summer birthday kids are assigned a day this month to celebrate with their class. Kai thought it was great. He picked out M&M cookies for the treat to bring, got sung to, and got to wear a birthday hat at school. The whole rest of the day he kept reminding all the rest of us to be extra nice to him because it was his official un-birthday.

Big Changes

There are big changes right around the corner for our little family. Come July Lance will be beginning a job in Henderson, NV and come August he will beginning a masters degree program in Legal History at UNLV. We are very excited about this new chapter in our lives. So Las Vegas here we come....

We are grateful for the opportunity he will have to further develop his business, management, contract review, and legal counsel skills with this new job. We are also grateful that he will be able to pursue his passion in studying history. Perhaps this will open up further opportunities to research and teach in the future which is something we both think he would really enjoy.

We are both super excited and horribly sad to be leaving Utah. We have LOVED living here but see this as an opportunity that we need to pursue. Several things have fallen in place just so that made us feel that it was the right thing to do.

So heat here we come. Nothing like moving to Vegas in the summer. Ugg....

Top 5 Things We Will Miss (they make us tear up to just think about):
1. Family here :(
2. Friends (going to the gym without Amy is going to be tough)
3 Neighborhood/ Church Here
4. All of the outdoor activities we love here
5. The kids things (Especially Kai's preschool)

Top 5 Things We Are Excited About:
1. Lance's job and school (and the life change that will bring)
2. Being half way between both of our families- yippee for driving distance!!
3. All the great things people keeping telling us about in Vegas/ Henderson- including lots of kid stuff
4. New Friends (and my old friend Jamie who lives there)/ Neighborhood/ Ward
5. Probably a newer home (they are all new to us compared to ours now)

So now we are focused on getting things in order here. All of the things to figure out are overwhelming, but we will slowly keep ticking things off. If anyone has tips or knows of a great preschool in Henderson let us know. Is it strange that I am more concerned about preschool than where we are going to live at this point?

Our Funny Kids

Last weekend we took them to their 1st movie. We didn't mean to make Kai wait so long- there just weren't any movies we were all interested in. We saw Oceans and it kept them both captivated until the last 10 or 15 minutes which exceeded our expectation. It was fun!

Lance has gotten these candid photos of our kids recently that made us laugh.

We've had a tiring last few weeks:

Teamwork to get in to the pantry:

It is good to have a partner in crime.

Mother's Day 2010

Happy Mother's Day to all the great women in our lives. We've got REALLY great Mom's and SUPER grandma's in our lives.

We had a nice Mother's Day weekend. Stretching it out to a weekend is really the way to go. We went out to a yummy breakfast with Lance'e Mom on Saturday morning.

Then Saturday night Lance took me to dinner and the Jazz game. It sure is fun to sit in such great seats for a playoff game- even if the Jazz did just barely lose.

Today Kai sang a Mom and Grandma song with the other Primary kids at church in Sacrament meeting and Rori had a rose for me from her nursery class. Lance made dinner tonight and let me take a nap which was what I really wanted/ needed. I am so grateful to be a mother- especially to these two:

We finally took another picture with all 4 of us in it after breakfast:

Scooters and Silly Day

Kai used some of his saved up money to purchase a razor scooter last week. He LOVES it. If you need him you can find him outside riding it whenever we are home. He's already mastered it and is now working on creating obstacle courses:

Kai had dress silly day at school last Thursday. He thought it was HIllarious. Thanks to my cousins Matt & Amy he was able to rock the sombrero which really added to his outfit of mis-matched socks and shoes and a backwards shirt:

You can even wear your sombrero while eating breakfast. We wonder what Rori was thinking about his outift.
