Scattered February Moments

February came and went for us.  We ventured back to the Zoo when the weather started to warm up a bit.  The zoo is always a big hit for us and we're excited as there are some things under construction that are due to be completed soon that will make it even cooler.

We got in a trip to the Cabin at Bear Lake for Valentines Day.  My favorite part was getting to sit with Lance by the fireplace.  The kids were thrilled to be back.

Then we made it through 2 long weeks of being separated from Lance while he prepared for a week of big exams.  We're thrilled that he made it through that long week and is one huge step closer to wrapping up his pre dissertation requirements.  We were all happily clinging to him when he finally got back to us.

*Bring on the sun and outside play.

*Rori comes home with tons of rocks in her shoes everyday from school.  Recess must be fun!

*Sometimes when we miss Daddy we text him funny face pictures.

*3rd kid in our family to use this scooter.  This thing has held up amazingly.

*Happy to have Daddy back.

Our weeks are busy and I feel like I am constantly just trying to keep up on the immediate needs.  Life is good though and we have been enjoying some nicer weather days as we dip back and forth from Winter.

Cub Scouts

Kai loves Cub Scouts.  It fits his personality really well and he has ended up with some great leaders this year.  He loves learning about the things they do, he loves gathering awards, and he loves being with the other boys.  He is super self motivated which is so nice.  By January he had earned his Wolf, 3 arrow points, and 6 belt loops (he is the only kids in his den to earn any belt loops or more than 1 arrow point so far) and he is still going strong at trying to get more before he becomes a Bear in August.  Grandpa was nice to come and attend the Blue and Gold Banquet with us.  He even joined in the auction and bought 2 cakes.  It was a fun night!

*Our assignment was to bring brownies.  Next year I vote for cookies or something else easier to put in individual portions and packaging.  This is so not my skill set. :)
