Weekend before last we deicded to make a quick trip up to Salt Lake. We thought we might be crazy to be taking a 3 week old on such a road trip, but she actually did great. Maybe it is the time to travel when they still sleep away most of the day. We'll be doing some more road trips later in the summer when she is a little older so we'll have a good comparison I guess.
We had a few reasons for going but the two most significant were Lance's cousin Shalese was getting married and we were switching renters in our house in SLC and wanted to do some in person meeting and house work. SUPER big thanks to Lance's parents for all their work in helping with the transition from one set of renters to the other. It is hard not to be there in person to deal with the all the things that come up with these sorts of things so they have been lifesavers. Next time someone moves in or out of that house we promise to not have just had a baby and to have atleast one of us there. Shalese was extra beautiful and it was fun to see Lance's grandparents backyard all decked out for the reception and get to introduce Zuri to many family members.
Other added bonuses of the trip were that Lance's sister Kirsten was in town for the wedding, it was our SIL Kimberley's birthday, and Kimberley and Tyler had just moved in to their new beautiful house that we got to see. Everything was green and beautiful and cool in UT which made our pangs of homsickness for Salt Lake call a tiny bit stronger.
The trip was non-stop with to house to do's, UT errands, wedding festivities, a quick lunch with the Wilkinson's, and soaking in a little family time. The combination of all of that with newborn sleeping nights didn't do much for my remembering to take pictures, but here are a few. Thankfully we have a longer trip later in the summer where I will try to do better.
