We had a really fun July 4th this year. We started off the day at a celebration Ward breakfast. There was all sorts of food, a military honor program that the kids got to help with, a decorated scooter/ bike parade, face painting, kids games, and a local fire truck to explore. We had a lot of fun visiting with the entire neighborhood and taking it all in.
That night we grabbed some dinner and then headed to a huge park nearby where they have lots o stuff going on and they let off fireworks. We watched the fireworks there last year too and had such a nice time that we were excited to go back. We now have it down to a system I think. We go early to get the parking we like, explore everything, and get some energy out running around. Then we have an area we like where we stake out our blanket spot to watch the fireworks. We bumped the volleyball around, played UNO, snacked, and just people watched until it got dark. I had brought some glow toys for the kids so they enjoyed those and watching a few other firework shows off in the distance until the show began. The fireworks last for about 30 minutes and are so good. We all laid on the blanket and watched them over us in the warm summer air. It was a wonderful July 4th!
