A Long Weekend

We knew when we moved that there would be a weekend in later September where Lance would have to stay in Vegas for a conference for work.  I was dreading the idea of 2 weeks without him.  But we pushed through and thanks to sports, and activities with friends and family we had quite a busy weekend when he was gone which helped it pass quickly.  The following weekend he arranged it to come in late Thursday night instead of the regular Friday night and surprise the kids with an extra day.   The timing worked out great as the kids had that Friday off of school.  I went and picked him up at the airport after they had gone to bed so the next morning they were pretty shocked to find him when they woke up.  It was awesome.  We had lots of fun on Friday hanging out, playing, hitting some wiffle balls in the yard for golf practice, getting hot chocolate at our favorite place, and taking a little trip to the Planetarium.  Kai continues to be way in to space so he loved it and there were lots of fun things for the girls to enjoy as well.  It was so nice to have an extra day together.  Saturday's are super fun but are pretty busy with football and soccer games and regular life to do's so it was nice to have a fun  extra day.
