And Then It Was Fall

We are well in to Fall here in Utah now and we are loving it.  This is my favorite time of year here and I am trying to enjoy every bit of it.  There is color all around, crisp nights, and lots of golden light.  Life is busy and that is good.

We continue to be very pleased with school for Kai and Rori.  Kai jumped right into his new school and seems to love it and be doing well.  He has a great teacher!  I continue to be very impressed with the team approach at Rori's school and it is exciting to see the ways she is progressing.  Lance's life is even more crazy than before which we may not have thought possible.  During the week he is busy with all of his work and school responsibilities.  He is teaching classes this Fall at UNLV and really seems to be in his element there.  He flies to Utah on Friday nights and then back to Vegas on Sunday nights.  It has to be exhausting for him but it makes the weekends even more exciting for us all.  We video chat with him every week night before bed and have our little routine there.  It is hard but we are making it work.  I still tear up every Sunday night, but during the week we are all so busy.

Zuri is my little buddy on the weekdays.  She is so funny and full of personality.  She talks all the time and is super social to everyone.  After we get the big kids off in the morning it is fun to get some 1 on 1 time with her.  We spent so much time in the car the last 2 years taking Rori back and forth from school, so it has been a really huge switch to suddenly have some more freedom in the day.  Plus Rori's school day was a bit shorter before so we really do have more time.  This has gone a long way to preserving my sanity as I have time to workout, run errands,  keep up on laundry, and get done anything I don't want to do with 3 helpers.  This is especially important since once the big kids get home things get pretty hectic with homework, sports practices, dinner, baths, getting ready for bed, making next day lunches, etc.  Once the kids are down for bed I usually feel pretty well wiped out.

I wouldn't mind Fall sticking around a litttle longer, but the kids on the other hand can hardly wait for Winter snow to get here.
