Sports Saturday's

Our Saturday's are pretty well packed with sports these days and although it is crazy exhausting we really do love it.  It takes a whole coordination effort to get everyone and everything where they need to be on time, but we wouldn't trade it.  And sometimes when we've had a really great day we need a little treat at the end of it all.  Fall sports really are so much fun!

Tumbling Class

The girls are both taking a Tumbling Class this Fall.  They go in the afternoon while Kai is still at school which works out great.  Rori's class is first and then Zuri goes next.  So far they are having a blast! 

Gremlin Football 2014

Kai is playing Skyline Gremlin tackle football for the first time this Fall and loving every moment of it.  This is the league and High School that Lance did growing up so Kai thinks that is extra cool.  To top it all off he is the quarterback which is a dream come true for him.  For the last few weeks of the summer he had practice every Mon-Fri from 6-8pm.  Now that school has started they are down to M, W, F from 5:30-7:30pm and games on Saturdays.  Needless to say a lot of our lives revolve around football right now.  It has been a lot of fun though and we are really enjoying watching him having so much fun.  His coach is also a friend of Lance's family since they were young so that has been neat too.  It has also worked out well that there is a whole group of cute little sisters that have a blast together.  Hooray!

 

The Day the Girls Met R5

The girls and I had a fun opportunity to go to a local radio station and meet one of their favorite Disney bands.  The girls were so cute and so excited about it.  They made a poster and the plan was to try and see R5 as they walked in to the radio station.  The girls thought it was great when they waved to the crowd outside as they entered the building.  But then it was even more exciting when they said we could come up and meet them, get their autograph, and take a picture.  Every time we see "Austin" on TV now they talk about how cool it was that they met R5 in person.  It was a fun adventure!

 

 

First Day of School 2014

After a great summer we were ready to get back in the routine of a new school year.  This is an exciting new school year for us. 

 

For the first time ever Kai and Rori get to go to the same school together.  We have worked super hard to get to this point and feel so grateful for all of the people who have helped Rori be ready for this next big step.  She is so excited about it and so are we.  Although there is some nervousness on our part, we feel she is well prepared and it is time.  We have met with her teacher a few times in preparation and she has been very nice and seems very open to doing whatever she can to accommodate Rori's needs.  She will also have a deaf itinerant teacher who will meet with her once a week to help with the transition which we are really pleased about it.  It will be so wonderful to have Kai and Rori together seeing each other around the building.  We also love that Rori will get to be with kids from the neighborhood.  It is an exciting time!

 

 

Kai got a wonderful teacher for 3rd grade.  We have heard great things about her and she seems so warm and fun.  He also has some of his best buddies from last year in his class so the transition this year seems very easy.  Kai enjoys school and is all read to go.

 

Zuri is also super excited that it is finally her turn to go to school.  She will be going to preschool 2 mornings a week.  We are sending her to the same preschool that Kai went to and we loved.  When we moved to Vegas this was one of the many things that was really hard for us to leave behind.  Zuri is so social and confident, so she will eat up every bit of preschool.

 

Labor Day 2014 at Bear Lake

We were able to do a quick get away to Bear Lake over Labor Day.  The weather was great and it was nice to have some time away and get in some of our favorite Bear Lake activities.  Everyone had a great time and it was a fun time.
