Visitors

We had a super fun weekend with our special visitors. Grandma and Grandpa Utah and the Mullins came for a visit. This was the first time that the Mullins had come to Vegas since we've lived here so we had fun showing them all around. We got in a lot in a short time- Lucille's, playing at the District, Bonnie Springs, In N Out for the Mullins who are deprived in Seattle, the Bellagio, Church, the new playground by our house, the Hoover Dam, an impromptu piano concert, lots of crafts and pretend play, and loving. The kids were in heaven being with their grandparents and cousins. Both sets of "twins" (Kai and Emme are 3 weeks apart and Rori and Kate are 3 weeks apart) had a blast together. Rori could be heard saying "That's MY cousin" or "Where's mine?" in reference to Kate- in other words the one her size. There were some tears all around when it came time to say goodbye. Oh how we wish we lived closer. Thanks for coming and visiting us!!!!!

Each set of "twins" was about the same height- TALL!!!!:

9 Months Old

Today Miss Zuri is 9 months old. Now that is crazy talk. She is the cutest thing and brings so much love and laughter to our little family. Most of the time she is such an easy going baby.

She loves to observe everything that is going on around her and is most happy when we are on the go. Frankly, I think she finds hanging out with just Mom at home to be pretty boring. When we go to pick up Rori at school we have to wait for her in the foyer area. When Rori and her classmates round the corner to walk down this long hallway towards us Zuri will let out a little squeal of joy and kick her legs like crazy. She also adores her big brother and finds everything he does to be fascinating.

Zuri's new tricks include army crawling all around the house (especially fast towards the things she knows are naughty like outlets, her brother and sisters stuff, etc.), pulling off her socks right after they are put on her, riding around like a big kid in the shopping cart cover thing my friend Jen is letting us borrow (LOVE this thing), and eating more softer finger foods and yogurt.

Zuri has been fighting another cold/ cough for about the last week and when she isn't feeling well she is more inclined to let us know about it. She tends to go on bottle strikes, decides to not sleep quite as well as usual, and just becomes a bit more fussy about things when we aren't on the go. Perhaps, we notice it more because she is so good when she is well. I can't wait to get out of sick season for good. Yuck! She seems to be feeling a lot better today (although the bottle is still a battle) so I'm hoping we are on the mend.

Oh how we love this little one- that grin, those eyes, and such sweetness. I just want to suck it all in as time is passing so quickly.

Here are a few more shots of our cute Zuri:

Long Weekend Adventure

The kids had a few days off of school for the holiday and Lance is working on a big school paper so I decided to take the kids to San Diego. It was my first time being brave enough to make the trip all by myself with the 3 kids. I'm happy to report that we did great. We even awarded Zuri the best rider award for the trip down as she ended up being the least demanding. :) We wish Lance could have joined us but we're glad he got to get some work done without us around to bug him. We had a great time with grandma, grandpa, & Whitney. It was fun to hang out and enjoy time together for a few days. The girls were both fighting these cold/ coughs so it was great to lay low a bit. We did drive the kids by my elementary schools (funny how they are so much smaller than I remember- and crazy that the Heights overlooks the Ocean), played some basketball on the elementary hoops, got in a little shopping, made a trip to the Scripps Aquarium for the 1st time, rode scooters and collected pine cones on the big grass hill, and got in some fun sports games on the Kinect. Big thanks to grandma, grandpa & Whitney for having us!
